I love this yogurt starter! I have been using it for a couple of months and am totally addicted to the yogurt. It turns out just right every single time. As an added bonus my gut health has improved dramatically and my skin has changed for the better too- so much so that people comment on it.

This is a wonderful product. I have used other starters, but none of them make yogurt of this quality. I make my yogurt from full fat whole milk, which is not available on the market ready made at all. Other yogurt starters I've used leave the yogurt rather runny, which is OK, I guess, but this starter creates a creamy, solid yogurt, (about the consistency of sour cream) which is just fabulous. I add fruit and it tastes just like ice cream! But much healthier! I am very pleased with this wonderful product and would recommend it heartily.
I have two certificates in nutrition a CNC and a HHC, and for that reason I am always reading books on nutrition and healing. I read Probiotics - Nature's Natural Healers which led me to this wonderful website. After reading the book I was hoping to find a yogurt starter and make my own yogurt. I was thrilled to find yogurt starter and so many wonderful products here. I purchased the starter and my first batch came out perfect the first time. I went out and purchased a second yogurt maker to make a quart batch along with the 7 individual jar maker. The yogurt is awesome and has a wonderful consistency and flavor to it. I am such a fan of Natasha Trenev's work and feel blessed I can purchase her starter and probiotics. The only thing I would like to say is that I did have a problem with the yogurt when I used the plastic container in the quart yogurt maker. I changed to glass and that solved the problem. Now I have a weekly quart of fresh organic yogurt to make smoothies with and I take my little jars to work with me daily for my lunch or breakfast on the go. So convenient and healthy! I'm so impressed I am on auto ship. Probiotics are so important and although I've scaled down on the supplements that I take to me probiotics are a staple in everyone's protocol. All probiotics are not created equal and so far I believe these are the best probiotics on the market. As suggested in her book, eating yogurt daily and a probiotic supplement too is the best way to support your gut and health. Don't let the instructions scare you. Yogurt is easier to make than it sounds. I was neurotic about the temperature at first since I used to make candy years ago... but it is real easy and the yogurt makers work well. They are pretty inexpensive online too. So jump in and start making your own yogurt today!

I really like the yogurt starter I can add any flavoring I want and have the control of what goes in it. Not like store bought yogurts that have additives and sugars. I can make smoothies with it and is a great snack.

Natren Yogurt Starter really makes the best yogurt. I am originally from Bulgaria and I've missed the tart, refreshing taste of real yogurt for years until I found Natren Yogurt Starter. Bulgarian cuisine calls for plain yogurt in a load of recipes, not to mention the yogurt drink called Ayryan and the cold soup called Tarator. However, none of the yogurts on East Coast market would work since they are lacking ... character. I actually avoided yogurt all together for it tasted so washed-out.
Then, two years ago I found Natren Yogurt Starter. Nowadays, believe it or not, my family of four (two adults, two kids) eats a gallon of homemade yogurt per week. It's tasty, it's healthy and it's cheaper than the "yogurt" you'd buy at the store. Plus, you know exactly what you've put in.
If you make your yogurt plain, you can add any fresh fruit to it. Try it with quartered organic strawberries and some natural sweetener (to eliminate fast-burning carbs). You'll see what I mean :-)

I can't believe I am the first one to review the Yogurt Starter. It makes really fresh, delicious yogurt; better than any plain yogurt available at the store. I used to not like plain yogurt, now I love it.
I make mine with 1% milk and eat it with fresh berries, honey, and granola. My stomach feels so good afterwards, it's truly comfort food. All of the good bacteria coats your mouth and throat with creamy goodness. I think this is the ideal way to get lactobacillus bulgaricus into your stomach.
It's very easy to make. There are many websites that will teach you variations of the process. I invested in a Yogourmet yogurt maker. I get great, consistent results with it but you certainly don't need it to make yogurt. It is over-priced at $50-$60, but I like it and it makes the process easier. Over years of use it pays for itself.
If you are using Natren's products already I heartily encourage you to try the Yogurt Starter and get into making your own yogurt. It's fun!
